Churches Together South Tyneside (CTST) is all about bringing churches together to serve our community with faith, hope, and action.

You’ll see this in our ongoing projects and initiatives, our weekly Prayer Points, our annual Easter Sunrise Service, our involvement in the Faiths Forum, and our work to shine a light on issues of justice.

Who We Are

Since our beginnings in 1999, CTST has been committed to reaching out to those most in need.

• Early Days – We first focused on supporting young people at risk of homelessness, which led to the Key Project, launched with just three volunteers.
• Standing with Refugees – Our earlier work with Vietnamese boat people grew into STARCH, supporting asylum seekers and refugees.
• Both of these projects are now thriving independent charities.
• We also helped establish Faiths Together, funded by the Council, bringing people of different faiths closer through visits, conversations, and shared activities.

What We Do Today

Our heart remains the same: reaching out in faith and action to serve the vulnerable across

South Tyneside.

We support the Faiths Forum to build bridges between communities and highlight justice issues through film showings, themed events, hustings, and more.

Prayer is at the heart of what we do — from shared resources to regular gatherings that unite us in faith.
