Nurturing Dementia

Our Nurturing Dementia project engages with local churches and the wider community

of South Tyneside to empower people living with dementia and their carers by

nurturing the whole person with compassion and respect.

Our Dementia Friendly Services at Christmas and Easter bring together people living with Dementia with people from Church communities and schools.
We work with St Gregory’s Church in Harton to improve engagement for people with dementia at social events.
We facilitated a Spirituality in Dementia Workshop for local churches and communities.
We have a monthly Dementia Empowerment and Engagement Group.
We work together with 3 local Care homes to help promote relationships and friendships.
